Article Seven: Resistance Is Futile

World governing bodies such as the United Nations, would like to think they have a significant impact on what happens around the world. This is laughable to God.
(Yes, God actually laughs at all of their schemes in Psalm 2)

Do they really think they can control global events by their decrees? Or world hunger, diseases, natural disasters, or wars with their laws and initiatives? Their many programs have proven to be failures, time and time again.

God is in control of world events, like the climate, famine, diseases, and even whether or not wars break out.

Most of those at the United Nations think they can do something dramatic about these world conditions...without God. For the most part, they don't believe in the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. They believe only in themselves. God laughs at man's collective efforts to usurp His power and control over events.

God made Jesus Ruler over the kings of the earth. Jesus is the One in control. World leaders and those people in the U.N. who were sent there, think that if they gather together as one body, with one mind, (remember the Tower of Babel? ) chances are they can effect more for the "common good". They don't realize they are gathering together in opposition to God's will...or do they?

Psalm Chapter 2:1-6 reads as follows:

Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the LORD
and against his Anointed One.

"Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

"I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill."

So, all of man's efforts to control and shape world events as a collective body are futile. "Resistance is futile" when it comes to God's will. God will always be God, and the One in control.
